Register” by Piper Huguley
This talented black designer from the 1920’s through the 1960’s has been
forgotten by historians. Her story is remarkable!
“I Must Betray You” by Ruta Sepetys
This novel is set in 1989 Romania where a young man risks everything
to fight for freedom from communism and oppression. Really interesting
and educational read!!!
Drama/Mystery/Thriller lovers:
“Mad Honey” by Jodi Picoult
So many social issues are dealt with in this novel, which does include
a teen accused of murder. Lots of info about bees as the mother is a
beekeeper. This one has many twists and turns!!
“Beartown” by Fredrik Backman
This novel follows the highs and lows of a hockey team amid a violent
opening action. The community and each individual character is portrayed
so realistically!!!
“Two Nights in Lisbon” by Chris Pavone
In this novel, a woman accompanies her husband on a business trip to
Portugal and wakes up to find him missing. This is a fast-paced read!
“The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell” by Robert Dugoni
Sam Hill was born with red eyes that affect his perception of himself and
also affect how others treat him. This is a wonderful, wonderful story
about love and forgiveness!
