It’s been a BUSY July . . . and with everything going on, I haven’t had time to read!!! So here are a few suggestions of books from our first Worthwhile Reads blogs (2020 & 2021) that you may not have read yet . . .
If you like historical fiction and drama, these were my favorites:

“This Tender Land” by William Kent Krueger
The plot involves 4 orphans who run away from a terrible situation and
create a bond of friendship amid many hardships. The setting is during
the Depression. I can’t recommend this novel enough!!!

“The Four Winds” by Kristin Hannah
This is another novel set in the Great Depression, but involves a woman
trying to survive and protect her family. I cried so many times while reading
this book!

“West With Giraffes” by Lynda Rutledge
Enjoy a wonderful story about the trip 2 giraffes take across the country
in 1938, to their new home in San Diego, California. This book had great
characters and is based on a true story.
Mystery/Thriller lovers should check-out these novels:

“The Girl from Widow Hills” by Megan Miranda
As a child, Arden Maynor was swept away in a storm and not found for
days. The story made nation-wide news. 20 years later, she has finally
found anonymity when publicity finds her again . . .

“The Last Thing He Told Me” by Laura Dave
Hannah Hall’s husband disappears under suspicious circumstances, but
smuggles her a mysterious note before he leaves. If you like twists and
turns, this book had many!
Memoirs:

“Greenlights” by Matthew McConaughy
This book is one of the best autobiographies I have ever read! The stories
are genuine and range from really humorous to very reflective and
profound. It’s a book about making the most of your life!
