My Husband’s Wife

Book cover of "My Husband's Wife" by Alice Feeney.

“My Husband’s Wife” by Alice Feeney kept me totally fooled until the very end with its terrific, twisty plot! I could not tell who was lying or who was telling the truth and loved that every chapter hooked me even more. If you like murder mysteries with a definite edge, multiple twists and several spicy scenes, this novel will definitely fill the bill!

Eden Fox goes out for a run and returns home to find her locks changed and a woman who looks a lot like her, living in her house, claiming to be her husband’s wife. From that point on, Eden’s life becomes rather crazy as she tries to discover exactly what is happening. Other characters include Eden’s wealthy husband – Harrison, the town sergeant – Luke Carter, Eden’s daughter – Gabriella and Birdy – the granddaughter of a former town resident. There are many clues along the way in this story, but many of them don’t become apparent until later . . . the deception comes from all directions, and it was brilliant!

The chapters in “My Husband’s Wife” are told from multiple points of view. I found the characters very intriguing, even though they weren’t really likeable. The humorous banter between characters was entertaining. It isn’t until the end that all of the puzzle pieces of this plot click into place, so be prepared to keep reading ‘just one more chapter.’ The audiobook of “My Husband’s Wife” has gotten lots of positive reviews in itself – I might have to check it out just to relive this fun novel again!
