Famous Last Words

Book cover of Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister

“Famous Last Words” is the latest thriller by Gillian McAllister and it had me hooked from the very beginning! The story has wonderful suspense and mystery but also has terrific main characters and really delves into relationships as the chapters tell about the characters’ lives. The setting is London, England.

Camilla is a young mother and literary agent who has been on maternity leave. As the story begins, Camilla is ready to take her daughter, Polly to her first day of nursery. Shockingly, police soon arrive at Cam’s workplace to tell her that there is a hostage situation – and her husband, Luke, is the hostage taker! On the police side of the story, we have Niall, the hostage negotiator. He is a calm, patient man who wants to have this situation end peacefully. But will it??? And why did Luke suddenly commit a crime that seems so out-of-character for him???

Chapters in “Famous Last Words” are told from Camilla’s and from Niall’s points-of-view. I loved the unique plotline and also the surprising twists and turns. I highly recommend “Famous Last Words” to everyone who enjoys a good thriller!!
