The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year

If you’ve been looking for a lighthearted cozy mystery with romance and a Christmas-y twist, check out “The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year” by Ally Carter. The chapters are very short and the action and fun banter hooked me from the start. The novel was fast paced and really kept my interest – what a great novel for December!

Maggie Chase and Ethan Wyatt are both best-selling authors. The two do NOT like each other, but both have been invited to spend Christmas with a “fan” at an English estate. There is a small cast of characters also attending the event. After the first night, their 81-year-old host disappears. To make matters worse, there is a blizzard, a greenhouse of poisonous plants and someone trying to kill Maggie and Ethan. I enjoyed trying to solve the mystery as the adventure unfolded.  (I didn’t guess the correct culprit though!)

I loved the witty dialog, the locked-room mystery and the sweet romance. “The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year” will appeal to a wide audience of readers. It was lots of fun!!!
