One of the library’s preschool storytime moms recommended that I read our next book – “This Book Made Me Think of You” by Libby Page. What a lovely story!! I loved the plot, the emotions that I felt while reading and the romance that evolved. This novel made me think back on books I’d read and wonder which ones I would recommend to others and why. It is a contemporary fiction book and would be great for book clubs!

Matilda (Tilly) Nightingale is the senior editor at her London book company but has been in a fog since she lost her husband, Joe, who was the love of her life. On Tilly’s birthday, she gets a phone call from the local bookstore about a gift waiting at the store for her…and the gift is from her husband. Joe has gifted her one book a month for the next year, along with a letter enclosed with each one. From that point on, Tilly’s life begins to change as she grieves her loss and learns to open up to life again. The bookstore owner, Alfie is a wonderful, insightful man, as are his employees, Blue and Prudence. Tilly’s sister, Harper, also plays a big role in the novel. Libby Page wrote in the novel, “Bookshops aren’t just bookshops. They’re places for book lovers to come together, like-minded souls meeting among the stacks.” She made that sentence come alive in this feel-good story.

I was sad when “This Book Made Me Think of You” came to an end. If you are a book lover – READ THIS NOVEL! There are so many books listed in the story and I couldn’t wait to see what book Tilly would receive each month. We are so blessed to have a new independent bookstore in Watseka – “Bookish” – where patrons can sit and talk about books while enjoying coffee and more. And we also have our wonderful public library filled with books and access to many more in the Heartland Library System. I hope everyone takes advantage of letting a book take them on a journey. My heart absolutely loved this book!
